Leaders in Construction Management
Business, community and technical leaders from the Houston area and across the United States generously provide free advice and guidance for the various programs within the Cullen College of Engineering. These allow programs in the Cullen College of Engineering to stay closely allied with the real needs of the business and technical communities that they serve.
The Construction Management Industry Advisory Board (IAB) is highly engaged with the Construction Management program, providing support through scholarships and endowments while playing an even more active role in hiring interns and graduates, student engagement, curriculum development, and research. The IAB meets as one board but has two distinct groups — the Commercial Industry Advisory Board and the Process & Industrial Industry Advisory Board mirroring the two curriculum tracks in the CM program.
The IAB meets three times each year to strengthen collaboration between industry and the program, discuss priorities, and identify opportunities to support students and faculty. In addition, IAB subcommittees meet more frequently throughout the year to advance initiatives in their respective focus areas: student engagement, curriculum development, membership and marketing, and research.
Through this ongoing involvement, the IAB helps ensure that the Construction Management program remains closely connected to industry needs while creating meaningful opportunities for students, faculty, and industry partners.
